Not easy to successfully complete the Sprint promotion, but 100% worth it! If you're looking to pass the Sprint to get half your money back (or full refund for the Super Sprint), you need to be organized and motivated. Read through the rules thoroughly and fully understand all caveats before committing. Lingoda has great customer service; if you're ever confused, just send them an inquiry and they'll respond very quickly. If you aren't concerned about getting money back or are just doing classes at your own pace, have fun with it!
Lingoda is a great immersive experience with lots of flexibility to schedule classes and allows students to change learning level at any point. Teachers are usually very friendly, non-judgmental, and great at engaging students as well as answering any questions. The PowerPoint lessons provide a variety of different scenarios in every slideshow to really help students build their language skills and are set up to help anyone expand their vocabulary and understanding of the culture.

WON'T RECOMMEND ANYMORE.
I enjoyed Lingoda and strongly recommended it to several friends before I realized that the hidden terms and conditions would cause me to ruin my chances of getting a refund in the Sprint promotion.
I saw all over their website and FAQ pages that I would get 50% of my money back if I took 15 classes each month. I had a busy two weeks being in law school and figured the first month I would make up the classes towards the end of the month. I have been working extremely hard to get these classes done in time and even enjoying them. Then I realized all my hard work will be for nothing. As someone who is willing to follow the rules and work hard to keep them, I was crushed to see that I had to click on several links and read a 12 page document to find out 2 little facts: 1. Only 1 class a day. 2. Only 5 classes a week. I can sum it up in two small sentences, so why did Lingoda not put it below where they repeatedly said "15 CLASSES, 50% OFF". If anything, they could have added a "15 CLASSES*" to indicate that it was not that simple. Instead, Lindgoda used the word simple - the rules are simple! Hardly.
Then, I tried to call customer service. No phone number. I tried to enter a chat with a representative. No representatives. I tried to send them messages. No response. I reached out to their corporate email, no response. I reached out to them on Instagram, no response.
Would not recommend anymore. I feel ripped off and cheated after all my hard work to keep up with the simple terms of the promotion - or so I thought - and then I couldn't even get a phone call or representative to discuss it. Definition of a scam.
*I have never in my life written a bad review for any place, person or company - until now.

Good

Good. Although they are native speaking teachers. But some does not know how to explain the lessons well.
Screen the teachers well!

Very good experience so far!

I've taken about 40 classes until now and I have to say I'm enjoying my Lingoda experience. All of the teachers I encountered are passionate about teaching their language, and a majority of them is very good at it.
I love the flexibility of being able to book classes whenever it fits best with my schedule.

Enjoyed my trial lessons but…

I did enjoy my trial lessons but I did not like so much the structure of it. And personally, after having tried it I realize that I prefer having a single teacher for at least a couple of lessons or sublevel, who can give me real feedback instead of a simple "she did a good job" after each lesson.

A tricky promotion full of traps

I registered Lingoda sprint from July to September 2020. I intended to practise my French oral and my level was B1 at the time of registration. My personal experience was very reluctant. I wouldn't recommend this way of learning language due to following reasons:
1. Most of the teachers are basically native speakers without proper teaching techniques. I don't know what certificates they obtained and how Lingoda claimed that ALL of them are professionals.
2. The group class can have up to 5 students in the same session. I must say 5 is very crowded, even 4 is too many. The ideal number of students in the same session should not be more than 3.
3. Their promotion rules claimed "if you were present 100%, you receive 50% tuition back". I must warn everyone that this is such a TRICKY PROMOTION FULL OF TRAPS. I hereby attach their evaluation results so you can see how they evaluate your presence.
1) Missed Classes
49. If the Participant does not attend a class due to reasons for which the Promoter is not responsible...the Promoter will not refund the class and the Participant will be automatically disqualified for the refund.
2)Cancelled Classes
46. The Participant can only cancel classes at least 7 days in advance, or within the 30 minute immediate-cancel window from within their Lingoda account. The Participant agrees that, if they do not cancel their lessons more than 7 days in advance or immediately, the Promoter will not refund or reschedule the booked lesson.
3)Additional credits
43. The Participant agrees to use the original class credit set that they get with the Sprint Promotion payments. It is not allowed to purchase additional credits in the store or make use of these.
4)1 Class a day
42b. The Participant can attend a maximum of 1 class per day and must complete the class from start to finish (i.e. they cannot be late or leave the class earlier).
5)5 Classes a week
42b. The Participant can attend a maximum of 5 classes per week. For this promotion, a week is considered to start on Mondays and finish on Sundays.
6)100% of classes taken
40. The Participant has to attend the following classes:
● 15 classes in month 1 - from 1st July to 30th July 2020 inclusive
● 15 classes in month 2 - from 31st July to 29th of August 2020 inclusive
● 15 classes in month 3 - from 30th August to 28th September 2020 inclusive
7)Timezone changes
44. The Participant agrees to not change their time-zone in their Lingoda account during the whole promotion.
8)Prior Subscsription
12. The promotion is only open to:
● Students who have not had a subscription with Lingoda for at least 30 days before the sign-up of the Sprint Promotion.
9)Classes booked before the start
24. It is the responsibility of the Participant to make sure that they book the classes on the corresponding Sprint dates and not before or after.
10)Successful Payments
28. The Participant agrees to make all three payments, regardless of whether the Participant completes the Sprint Promotion or not due to any circumstances.
11)Chargeback
32. In case of chargeback, it is the responsibility of the Participant to reverse the chargeback within 48 hours. Failure to reverse the chargeback within the next 48 hours will result in the Participant’s disqualification from the refund.
As you can see, with all these rules beforehand. If you don't pay one small attention, you lose 50% tuition back.

My experience learning german

I am very grateful with the experience of taking classes with Lingoda. I just finished the Super Sprint challenge, and I am excited to hear about the refund. But besides that I learned a lot of vocabulary and essential skills to be fluent in german. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and colleagues because I entered just knowing a little of german and now I can hold a real conversation. There is still a large path to cover but I feel satisfied with the results.
